About Us

Frontier Barn Homes was founded by Tim deJong, after finding a passion for timber frame construction in 1989 while working for a timber frame company. After Graduating from Urban and Regional Planning at Ryerson Polytechnic University, Tim worked as a Planning consultant. Unable to withhold his desire to work with timber frames and his long time love with barn architecture he founded Frontier Barn Homes in 2001. Tim continues to look forward to new challenges and plays an active roll in the process right from designing to the raising of the frames.

When first founded we specialized in using old barn structures and reclaimed antique barn beams to create custom designed timber frame homes. Over the years Frontier Barn have evolved to accommodate both those who have a passion for vintage material and those who have a passion for newly milled lumber. At Frontier we believe in offering choices and customizing to meet the need of our clients, ranging from the size of timbers to the material used (from Oak to Pine).

Whether you are looking for accent beams, mantels, bunkies, barns, an addition, or your dream home, you can be rest assured that all are built from the finest materials suited to your specific needs.
